What you will be doing 
 
You will join the team that works well together to provide care for people with Learning Disabilities. Whether you have been a Healthcare Worker or a Care Worker, you will utilise your experience to support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life. 
 
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week because of you.

The shift patterns include working nights and weekends, 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week. 

 

Where you will be working   

Location: Westpark 26, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9FF  

 

Join the team at Wellesley Hospital as they open their new low to medium secure Learning Disability service for adult males on Winsford and Thornemead wards, a bright newly designed, modern safe environment.  

 

The unit is one of NHS England’s pilot sites to test new approaches to delivering mental health care and works alongside local NHS trusts and private care providers in the South West.  

 

Wellesley Hospital is conveniently located near Wellington, close to the M5 and commutable from Taunton, Exeter, Yeovil and surrounding areas.  

 

The service operates 24/7. You will work shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and nights. Standard shifts are 12 hours a day, working 3 days one week, 4 days the next.
