Post-vaccination Observation Support Volunteer - COVID-19 in Peterborough

Job description

We are rated "Outstanding" by CQC with an annual budget of £125 million, the Trust's vision is to provide high quality care to the diverse communities we serve to make their lives better. You can find out more about our vision, values and objectives on our website or from the "additional documentation" menu on this page.

We believe that community based health services are fundamental to the success of an NHS that gives people more choice and control over their health.

Please be advised that due to the nature of the National Mass Vaccination Programme, it is not possible to undertake this role working remotely or from home.

Do you think you could help us?

Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on lives, health and the economy. The UK Government and its medical and scientific advisors have been clear that the only safe and sustainable way out of the Covid-19 pandemic is through a vaccination programme.

In readiness for this, we are seeking people with the appropriate experience to join us, with the common life-saving purpose of recovering our community from this pandemic.

We need to fill these roles, and fast, so we would be grateful for your application.

As the Post Vaccination Observation Support role will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations for the COVID-19 vaccine(s). The post holder will provide support of recovery and observation to patients that receive the vaccine.

Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust are proud to provide high quality innovative services that enable people to receive care closer to home and live healthier lives. We have realised some amazing achievements recently, all of which are due to our committed staff. Just some include:

  • for the fifth year running our staff rated working for the Trust as a positive experience in the national staff survey. Being rated best in the country when compared to our peers in 19 out of the 32 areas rated (including staff recommendation of the Trust as a place to work or receive treatment), and better than average in 29 of the 32 areas is simply phenomenal. We know that an engaged and happy workforce is directly linked to the provision of good patient outcomes, so we were particularly pleased that our staff engagement score was the 9th highest nationally for all NHS provider organisations.
  • the Care Quality Commission rating our services ‘Good’ following an extensive inspection
  • exceeding our target of 90% of the 33,500 patients we surveyed expressing satisfaction with our services
  • winning several multi-million pound contracts across the region; each for periods of up to five years bringing additional resources and security in to the Trust
  • achieving a modest and planned operating surplus despite on-going financial constraints and ever-growing demands for our services, all of which will be ploughed back into improving services in the coming year

Our staff are our most important asset and we are committed to developing each and every one of them.

If you share our passion for innovative and high quality care delivery, then we encourage you to submit your application and join us on our exciting journey as a leading edge specialist community provider.

As the Trust is a multi-site organisation you may be required to work at any of the Trust sites and you may need to change your normal place of work, either temporarily or on a permanent basis, as a result of development or reorganisation of Trust services.
