What you will be doing

As a qualified RMN/RNLD nurse – you will ensure young people with mental health conditions receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promote good teamwork.

No two days are the same, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, but also a good amount of routine.

Where you will be working

Location: Everest Road, Atherton, Manchester, M46 9NT

At The Spinney, we offer a range of care settings for male patients with personality disorder and/or mental illness. The purpose-built medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well as a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) are all set within an 11 acre site with extensive woodland and landscaped areas.

Many of our patients are placed with us for a period of stabilisation after which they are able to step down in terms of security level.

 

Facilities include a fully equipped gymnasium, education room, art and pottery workshops, health and fitness suite, computer suites and swimming pool. The nationally recognised Education and Occupational Therapy department encourage patients to get involved in all forms of art, including music, photography and practical skills.

 

Staff at The Spinney have previously been recognised by the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT) for their ability to reinforce positive behaviour, prevention of challenging behaviour and successful interventions in a secure care setting.
