As a Registered Charge Nurse, you will lead and co-ordinate the quality and management of nursing care for women with mental health conditions.

With previous experience in a similar setting from the NHS or private care, you will be responsible for the clinical environment and managing the clinical services throughout the wards and units.

What you will be doing:

  • To be accountable for the safe and effective clinical and operational functioning of a defined unit.
  • To provide credible clinical leadership to a defined staff group
  • Act in a professional role manner clinical leader, a resource for staff, and supporting, guiding and supervising staff as required.
  • Develops and supports an environment which supports competent ethical nursing care.
  • Integrates team members with clear information and creates opportunities to influence work objectives, planning and organisation.
  • Develops and implements strategies to facilitate effective communication pathways.

You will need:

  • Relevant experience asRMN/RNMH/RNLD
  • Professional training in a related environment
  • Recognised Mentorship certification
  • NVQ Assessor Qualification
  • Values based practice
  • Leadership skills
  • Administrative, planning and organisational skills
  • A knowledge of the organizational policies and procedures
  • Report writing

Where you will be working

Location:Springwood Lodge, Guiseley, LS20 9PQ

Situated in the small town of Guiseley on the outskirts of Leeds the service is surrounded by beautiful countryside with easy access to all local amenities.

Spring Wood Lodge supports women over the age of 18 who have complex emotional and mental health problems associated with significant risk behaviours. Typically they have a diagnosis of personality disorder or a severe mental illness. They may not have had their needs met in a general psychiatric service including acute inpatient units, community mental health teams or community personality disorder service. The service focuses on active rehabilitation with a view to achieving a sustainable discharge.

Facilities include 21 bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, modern comfortable and homely communal living space with a lawn and walled court yard garden. We have an exercise studio as well as our own hair and beauty salon and all facilities are wheelchair accessible.

Spring Wood Lodge provides:

  • 17 bedded Inpatient rehabilitation (Bronte Ward)
  • 5 bedded high dependency inpatient rehabilitation (Byron Ward)
