Part Time Fundraising Co-ordinator - 22.5 hours per week in Surrey

4 - 40 hours per week

Job description

We are seeking a Part Time Fundraising Manager working 22.5 hours per week ideally Mon to Fri 9am to 1.30pm paying £17220 for the 22.5 hours worked or £14.70 per hr which is equivalent to an annual salary of £27k pro rata. In return we can offer 25 days holiday and the opportunity to join a well established UK wide charity with our Head Office in Farnborough. The Fundraising Manager will develop new opportunities for the charity to raise funds to support our work, both philanthropic and commercial. This is a varied and busy role working as part of our Farnborough team with a mixture of home and office working.

The main focus of the role is:-
To raise income and achieve agreed income and activity targets for the charity through developing relationships with companies, our membership programmes, and supporters.
To encourage supporters, individuals, professionals or corporates to become active fundraisers, as well as other forms of voluntary support including gifts in kind, to raise the profile of the charity.
To encourage individuals to join as members.
To work with the Outreach Development Officer to establish fundraising through our support groups.
To provide support to those who are fundraising for the charity and cultivate relationships with donors to encourage continued support.
To contribute towards the development of an internal culture where ‘everyone is a fundraiser’.
To develop local fundraising through companies and businesses

Supporter Development
To increase the supporter base of the Campaign including:
Encouraging people to join as individual members of the charity
Increasing the number of volunteers in the community who fundraise, disseminate information, or other activities that raise the profile and income of the charity
Increasing the number of companies, local businesses, healthcare organisations and other agencies helping to raise awareness of the charity, donating time and / or funding to support key campaigns and activities

Fundraising Development
Contributing to the writing of the Fundraising strategy for the Campaign.
Developing an annual fundraising plan for areas of responsibility
Keeping up to date with fundraising code of practice/new regulations
Keeping up to date with trends and new fundraising methods
Looking for new ways in which the charity can raise funds to support our work, including commercial opportunities where applicable. Providing support and encouragement to individuals in their fundraising efforts – fundraising packs, sponsor forms, links to Just Giving on-line donation website, T shirts etc. Ensuring that all donations are entered on CRM database and allocating funds to appropriate appeals and Gift Aid as per Gift Aid rules.
Ensuring that all donations are acknowledged.
Producing reports from the CRM database and own activities as required.
Writing copy relating to community fundraising for the Campaign’s newsletter.
Support Leaders Group fundraising – working with the Outreach Development Officer to develop materials, campaigns, ideas and opportunities to encourage support groups to fundraise.
Annual Allergy Awareness Day – developing an annual fundraising campaign to achieve income target and build awareness.

Corporate Fundraising
Building partnerships with national and local corporates. Understanding their needs and working with them to deliver their own department, team or corporate fundraising plans.
Identifying new opportunities, encouraging involvement in third party events, providing support to maximise amount raised.
Securing gifts in kind as and when required for fundraising events, fundraising campaigns, conferences or for internal office use.

Donors and Supporters
Further developing our membership programmes to improve retention and increase new joiners. Developing the membership ‘offer’ to provide additional value to members
Cultivating relationships with existing donors
Identifying potential major donors, either individuals or corporates
Presenting at Support Group meetings where and when required

To be successful as our Part Time Fundraising Manager you will need to ideally have the following skills:-

Knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategy
Knowledge of CRM database systems
Knowledge of fundraising good practice including Gift Aid regulations
Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality
Knowledge of the charity sector

Able to identify creative ways to encourage community support and fundraising
Able to identify potential commercial opportunities where appropriate
Able to develop effective use of digital communication systems raising support and income
Able to liaise with external bodies

Success in achieving income and activity targets
Proven track record of successful corporate fundraising and supporter/ donor development or significant experience in a field-based sales role.
Previous experience of managing projects

In return we can offer the opportunity to work part time, 22.5 hours per week, ideally over 5 days, for a local, friendly and well established charity with some home working too. An hourly rate of £14.70 per hour equivalent to £27k pro rata with free parking when on site and 25 days holiday.
