Requirements:
* Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
* Minimum of 2 years experience teaching English and Maths at Level 2 or above
* Experience teaching in a classroom environment
Established in 2005, East Cheshire Training and Assessment (ECTA) is a National Trainer of operatives and operational staff within the Gas, Power, Utilities and Facilities Management Industries, headquartered in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
Due to targeted growth in our Apprenticeship programme, we are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Freelance Functional Skills tutor
What will you do?
As a freelance Functional Skills Tutor you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English and Maths teaching to our learners who are enrolled onto our apprenticeship programmes. You will work closely with our learners, employers and our tutor teams, using your teaching ability, coaching skills and innovative technologies to deliver exceptional training. Your role is imperative in facilitating the creation and delivery of an outstanding English and Maths programme to ensure our learners gain maximum value from their apprenticeship and are stretched and challenged to achieve above their expected level.

Your role as a freelance Functional Skills Tutor requires you to:
* Deliver high quality teaching to meet the requirements of the Functional Skills curriculum.
* Devise individual learning plans (ILP) to aid differentiation based on individual needs.
* Provide ongoing support through virtual learning, video conferencing and remote support.
* Use schemes of work (SOW) to create lesson plans to prepare and deliver teaching and learning.
* Prepare learners to complete Functional Skills exams, providing constructive feedback to stretch and challenge the learner ability.
* Assess the quality of work provided by learners throughout the course duration, offering continual feedback to improve knowledge, skills and behaviours of learners in line with the Functional Skills curriculum requirements.
* Ensure learners achieve their required Functional Skills certification to support their programme requirements within the time scales set.
* Work toward and maintain grade 2 in observation of teaching and learning.
* Support the implementation of improvement strategies resulting from satisfaction surveys, self-assessment reports and quality improvement plans.
* Be familiar with safeguarding requirements as outlined in the Safeguarding Policy and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
* Help to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and ensure the learner experience is placed paramount in all activity conducted.
Essential
* Minimum GCSE English and maths grade C/4 or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths
* Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check
* Evidence of CPD
* Experience teaching in a classroom environment
Desired:
* Functional Skills certification at Level 2
* Minimum of 2 years experience teaching English and Maths at Level 2 or below
* Teaching qualification level 3 or above
* Assessors Award qualification
