There is an exciting opportunity to join the innovative, friendly nurse lead Critical Care Outreach Team (iMobile Team) at the PRUH. The PRUH is in an enviable position of sitting just inside the M25 – making access easy with the advantages of outer London Weighting.

The iMobile team supports the hospital in the management of deteriorating patients by assessing, treating and stabilising on the ward, transferring to Critical Care as part of rapid response and follow up after discharge from Critical Care. Delivering both simulation and non-simulation based patient safety education and training to ward staff is an integral part of the iMobile nurse’s role. The team support and deliver teaching in early recognition and prevention of patient deterioration incorporating a human factors approach. Trust CQC inspections have recognised the iMobile service as an ‘Outstanding Area of Practice’.

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, caring and compassionate individual experienced with excellent leadership and communication skills, who will enjoy working in demanding and rapidly changing environments.

The Critical Care department offer well-established, structured teaching and staff development programmes and we are affiliated to King’s College, London. King’s is a member of the Academic Health Science Centre.

The role requires you to have an appropriate specialist course, teaching qualification and possess a degree, with significant critical care experience. You must be able to demonstrate expert patient assessment skills and evidence based decision making with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Effective Communication is a key attribute for this role that involves working closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be enthusiastic about education and be able to demonstrate previous experience of teaching, supervision and assessment of practice.

Delivering patient care in a variety of clinical settings, your role will be to work within the iMobile Critical Care team assessing, managing and treating patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. You will assist the matron with the ongoing management and development of the service. This role is clinically based.

This post involves shift work (days, nights and weekends).
