Manpower are recruiting a Business Service Estimator for one of their Key clients.

The company is the specialist rail division with over 15 years' experience delivering projects to meet the growing demands of Britain's rail infrastructure with diverse experience in design, engineering, project, reactive and maintenance works across the UK's rail network.

Working specifically in their growing Rail business in Aldershot. You'll support the current Framework agreements with Network Rail for Wessex, Western, Wales and LNW routes, plus other opportunities on wider railway infrastructure in the UK. You'll develop cost models/plans, submit accurate estimates and manage bids for design and build projects, including large and more complex major schemes ensuring that all client requirements and technical issues are fully considered. You'll also hold responsibility for option appraisals and identifying and applying alternative solutions to enhance bid profitability and the delivery of value engineering. This will extend to preparing accurate estimates of net costs for contract tender bids and ensuring completion to schedule in accordance with client requirements.

You'll prioritise and manage your own workload, maintain accurate records of tenders submitted while interfacing with our Estimating Manager, Procurement team and Operations Team. This will be completed with the objective of delivering supplier coordination to ensure accuracy, best value and competitiveness of estimate and accommodation of the supply chain critical path.

To be successful in this role, you'll have the ability to prepare Schedule of Rates, "take off" quantities from drawings or bill of quantities and have a good understanding of technical drawings. You'll have previous experience within an electrical and mechanical environment with building MEP building services specific knowledge. We would also be looking for you to have a good understanding of the construction methodologies relating to working in the Rail sector, including safety, access, possession and isolation requirements, restricted working environments and group and line standards particular to working on Network Rail infrastructure.

Finally, you'll have completed a craft apprenticeship and developed competence to the level of BTEC or equivalent technical training. You'll also have strong commercial and business awareness to enable you to identify and recommend appropriate bid proposals that meet client needs as well as promote the Company's interests. Therefore, you must be highly motivated and accurate, as attention to detail is vital, as is excellent Maths and IT skills.

Due to the level of mobility required in this role a full UK driving license is essential.

For this you can expect a salary of between £55,000 - £58,000 depending on experience and £3,000 car allowance.
