Job description

Key responsibilities include:
* Delivery of an effective programme of learning to ensure timely completion to achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
* Assessing learners in a timely manner
* To plan, establish and sustain good relationships with all learners
* Contribute to the design and delivery of courses. This may include but not restricted to scheme of work, lesson plans, course material, hand-outs, individual learning plans, reviews and other student related paperwork
* Establish strategies for dealing with poor attendance, punctuality, behaviour and class performance
* Keeping registers and other student information as required by funding rules and for statistical purposes
* Liaise with Academy Manager (and other staff members) to ensure a smooth running of courses
* Undertake additional work to ensure quality and compliance is met to the highest standards.
* Undertake administrative duties associated with the learning programmes such as open days, organising external visitors and organising learning-related trips.
* Deliver effective IAG during the qualification to support learners onto their next steps.
* Maintain delivery standards equivalent to or higher than a good as per the education inspection framework, striving for outstanding
Qualification
Teaching Qualification: Cert Ed, C&G 7407, CTTLS, DTTLS
Assessing Qualification: A1, CAVA, TAQA or equivalent
Have occupational competence in the vocational area and supporting qualifications (Such as the Level 3 Diploma qualification being delivered)
Experience of classroom-based delivery with strong classroom management skills
Awareness and understanding of the Education Inspection Framework
Experience
Proven track record of successful completion of portfolios with success rates
Competency in completing course compliance documentation in line with SFA guidelines
Experience of teaching post-16
Experience of assessing
3 years teaching within a vocational context
Experience of Ofsted inspections
Have an understanding of curriculum design and assessment
Knowledge
Knowledge of current policy in the Skills Sector and how this applies
Up to date knowledge of the education inspection framework

Ability to work independently demonstrating initiative and proactivity
Excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate concerns, complex / contentious issues in a diplomatic manner that does not offend or escalate
Proven ability to analyse complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions to address them
Ability to deal with changing priorities, work under pressure, work to tight deadlines and be flexible
Ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels across the Company and with external stakeholders and committed to teamwork
Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Experience of working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
