The Role

Due to a recent change within our team, we are seeking an experienced and passionate HGV Mobile Technician to cover the Manchester and surrounding areas.

Our Mobile HGV Technicians are responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of our fleet vehicles. Ensuring the vehicles remain operational and comply with any legislations. As a qualified HGV Technician to at least NVQ level 2 or equivalent, you will have a track record of working in a similar role.

About You

In order to be a success as a Mobile HGV Technician, you will need to have the knowledge and experience of servicing and maintaining HGV Trailers, Tail lifts, double decks and power units as well as the passion and drive to provide that top class level of service to our customers.

You'll be working from one of our well-equipped mobile vans attending jobs on customer sites, carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, maintaining the fleet and identifying faults using advanced diagnostic equipment. We work with blue-chip clients and household names and it's a fast-paced environment with demanding customers.

You will have a demonstrable track record of success in Heavy Vehicle maintenance along with the relevant NVQ Level 2 or above, C&G Motor Vehicle Level 2 or 3 and/or similar qualifications. LOLER qualification would be a distinct advantage as well as IRTEC although these are not essential. As all our work is logged onto a tablet, you'll need to have good IT skills too. This role would suit someone who is passionate about what they do and is able to use their own initiative.

You will be available to work between 08:00 - 18:00 Monday - Friday and be available for call outs

Other duties will include:

* Carrying out preventive maintenance in accordance with Ryder policies and procedures

* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles and related ancillary equipment, replacing parts as and when necessary in line with Company and legislative requirements

* Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard

* Providing on the job training for other Technicians/Trainees as required

* Continually identify possible warranty claims and escalate these to the appropriate person
