BuyersLocation: Coventry & Milton Keynes Package: Basic Salary £25,000-£30,000 (dependent on experience)plus, bonus & other excellent PLC company benefits Sector: Packaging distribution The Company We, the UK's largest packaging distributor are seeking to hire two experienced buyers to come aboard and support our National Accounts (retail division) team. We have two vacancies, whereby one will be based full time at our Coventry Head Office, the other at our Milton Keynes site. The Buyer Role The role is responsible for supporting the Retail Procurement Managers to ensure a professional procurement service is provided to the National Retail, 3PL & New Business teams. Working as an integral member of our National Accounts team, your role will also uphold the company wide National procurement strategy. These will be varied roles with a wide span of duties and direct involvement with a range of internal & external stakeholders. Both are full time roles working 37.5 hours a week Monday-Friday. Buyer Key Duties
Handle bespoke enquiries in a prompt and professional manner
Support the sales teams with any supply or product related issues
Ensure working capital targets are supported through procurement with consideration to stock days, whilst not compromising competitiveness
Perform tasks as reasonably requested by the Procurement Managers
Manage suppliers in relation to service and competitiveness
Place Purchase orders when required
Expedite deliveries where required
Request & Manage Sample, Technical Drawing & Artwork sign-off
Liaise with the Procurement Managers to ensure delivery of procurement performance for the team
Liaise with relevant UK sites where applicable and concerning stock holding volumes and space requirements
Working closely with Sales on new business projects
Undertake cost savings exercises

Do you have the correct profile? We would prefer you to have at least 1-2 years' experience of working within a similar buying role. This should ensure that you have enjoyed exposure to most of the duties outlined above. Previous experience of working closely with a national/key/corporate accounts team would also be beneficial (not essential). You must have strong stakeholder engagement experience combined with effective communication, negotiation, and administration skills. It is equally important that you have strong commercial acumen alongside an analytical approach. A relevant degree and/or professional qualification (CIPS) would also be favourable, as would a UK driving licence as there will be the need for occasional travel within this role.
