Internal Sales Team Leader in Edinburgh

Job description


Headquartered in Edinburgh but with clients spread across the UK, ESS Recruit's client is a fast growing and highly ambitious revenue generating SME business. They have developed leading electronic PPE equipment for workers in industries like construction, heavy manufacturing, rail, transport and local authorities. Ongoing expansion mean they now need to make the key hire of an Internal Sales Team Leader in a newly created role.

In this role you will be reporting to the Internal Sales & Support Manager with occasional reporting also to the Business Development Director. The Team Leader is responsible for a combination of personal and team KPI and revenue-based targets. You will be expected to attain and exceed monthly sales targets, pipeline management and forecasts via a CRM (Salesforce). The role of the Internal Sales function is responsible for developing sales via inbound and outbound cold calling and upselling to existing customers. The role requires excellent customer qualification, and where appropriate, inbound lead allocation to the Business Development team based on the company criteria.

Job Responsibilities:

Coaching and management of the Internal Sales Executives.
Closing sales and achieving sales team targets.
Receiving customer enquiries, qualifying potential requirement and allocation to either internal sales or business development based on customer potential criteria.
Answering potential customers' questions and sending additional information via email.
Communicating with customers, making outbound cold calls to potential customers, and following up on leads.
Explaining and demonstrating features of products and services via phone or online demonstrations.
Staying informed about competing products and services.
Upselling products and services.
Researching and qualifying new leads.
Keeping up with product and service information and updates.
Creating and maintaining Pipeline/customer/lead records on the CRM system. To be considered for this role our client is looking for someone who has experience of consistently achieving targets in a sales environment for at least a couple of years in industry. Coupled with this, as the role is at Team Leader level, you must have supervisory experience from a previous role. You should be able to show proficiency in Microsoft Office and in a CRM software such as (url removed).

It will be a given in a role like this that you would have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and good organisational skills and the ability to multitask. If you can demonstrate excellent phone and cold calling skills, exceptional customer service skills with strong listening and sales skills and the ability to achieve targets we would welcome and application from you.
