At East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, we provide acute and complex services and a range of outpatient, diagnostic services whilst Crawley Hospital and Horsham in West Sussex and Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey provide less complex planned services. East Surrey Hospital is also the nearest trauma unit for Gatwick Airport.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, to work with a friendly team of highly motivated and experienced Dietitians based at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill.
East Surrey Hospital has a varied and complex patient mix requiring specialist dietetic input. The post holder will be responsible for leading on the delivery of Parenteral Nutrition across the Trust and providing a Dietetic service to the Digestive Diseases unit, seeing upper and lower GI surgical patients. They will also provide cover to other specialist surgical areas such as gynaecology, urology, ENT and surgical admissions alongside 2 Band 6 Surgical Dietitians. This role involves leading a small surgical Dietetic Team consisting of the Band 7 Nutrition Support Dietitian and two Band 6 Surgical Dietitians.
The post holder will participate in weekly nutrition ward rounds with the Consultant Gastroenterologist and the Nutrition Nurse Specialist, reviewing highly complex patients from medical and surgical acute teams. They will also contribute to the Nutrition Steering Group.
The post holder must be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, in a busy acute environment, whilst being flexible to the needs of the service. They will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner, as well as being an integral team member in a multidisciplinary team. The post holder must be able to demonstrate skills in working collaboratively with team members, individuals and their families.
The post holder also requires leadership skills and will be expected to take a share of the dietetic team leadership responsibilities in conjunction with other Band 7 Dietitians.
The Dietetic Department at East Surrey Hospital provides inpatient adult and paediatric services to this busy acute hospital, along with a range of outpatient clinics. There is excellent IT support, opportunities for personal development and there is a robust CPD programme in place, with regular senior support and supervision, being readily available.
