An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join and work across both hospital sites in York and Selby, Specialising in Acute and Chronic Disease Management in Dermatology. The registered nurse will work closely with Dermatology Consultants and nursing colleagues to ensure a patient focused Outpatient service that provides a Minor Surgery service whilst also delivering a variety of nurse led services.

The successful candidate will primarily be based in York but would need to work across sites within the York Teaching Hospital Trust. This is an ideal opening for a Registered Nurse to further their career in the field of assessing, monitoring, reviewing patients with acute and chronic skin conditions in Dermatology.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and dynamic with patient-centred evidence based care at the centre of what they do. The post-holder will play a key role within the Multidisciplinary Team, acting as patient advocate in the treatment and decision making process. Training will be given to ensure you have the clinical knowledge and skills to provide highly specialised advice to patients and carers, and act as a resource to other healthcare professionals. They will ensure the highest quality of care throughout the patient journey. The successful candidate will support service development and be aware of local and national agendas and take part in education and training. There is a requirement to contribute to research and to take part in audit.

In return we offer a number of benefits for our Band 5 Staff Nurses which include the following:

  • Pre-Registered Nurses who have completed their degree and are awaiting NMC registration will be paid at AfC Band 5.
  • You may be eligible for financial support of up to £750 if you are relocating to join our Trust.
  • Refer a friend scheme; once employed by York Teaching Hospital you could receive a £250 payment if you refer a nurse to us that takes up employment in our Trust (paid after the new starter completes 3-months in post).
  • We also offer a wide range of benefits which you can view by visiting the Trust's dedicated Staff Benefits pages.
