SEN Science Lead in Oxfordshire

Job description

We are currently working with an SEN Secondary co-educational day special school for pupils aged 11-18 who are looking to appoint an SEN Science Lead Teacher from January. They provide outstanding schooling for children with a range of complex educational needs. Children at the school function at an incredibly high level but may have ADHD, social communication difficulties, or autism and struggle to maintain concentration, whilst others may need emotional support to help them achieve their potential.

As a Science Teacher, you will not just be teaching young people you will be tasked to learning what each pupil is particularly interested in, how they learn, and how they are motivated. Then channeling those factors into the way, you teach each of the subjects so every pupil gets the most out of them. To help you achieve the best for your students you will have access to fully equipped, cutting-edge labs, robust TA support, and the ability to tailor accreditations to individual abilities, you'll be able to get as creative as you like when it comes to engaging young people and encouraging them to reach their full potential. By joining the Science department, you will be putting your passion into practice and using your own personal flair to make sure they reflect this idea in everything they do.

This position will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, but whether you've given a particularly inspiring lesson or helped a pupil with a presentation or exam arrangements, you can expect to take home a sense of having done something amazing every single day. As all teachers know, some of those days may be harder than others but, at this school, you are never alone. You will work as part of a collaborative team, not just with other teachers across the school and Group but with their in-house psychologists, family liaison officers, and therapy professionals. All pulling together to create the best possible outcomes for their pupils.
