This really is a rare opportunity for a commercial junior buyer who is looking for autonomy in their role whilst being part of a business with huge growth year on year.

The biggest challenge in this role is keeping up with the growth, being entrepreneurial and keeping one step ahead of the competition. Egos need not apply, everything could be in your job, you need to love trading and negotiating.

As Junior Buyer you will work closely with the Senior Buyer so you need to be all over your numbers and be able to answer his questions quickly and succinctly. You will love not having any politics and red tape and feel comfortable working in an environment where you will need to make decisions quickly and potentially sometimes make a mistake!

This role will have full responsibility for category management in line with the business unit strategy in order to deliver/exceed the budgeted current and future sales, margin and stock targets. This will be delivered alongside the merchandising team using analysis of existing data and developing new ways of forward forecasting.

  • Your drive attitude and determination to work hard and deliver results and be a part of the growth is critical.

  • You must have experience sourcing stock from the Far East and FOB.

  • Extensive experience in range planning, trading & direct sourcing

  • Experience of working with an evolving and increasingly complex business

  • Capability to work autonomously and to work across the business, other teams and at all levels

  • Commercially focused with a strategic edge

  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills

  • Proven ability to deliver results yourself & through others
