Environmental Apprentice
Salary: £12,000 in Year 1, salary to be reviewed in Year 2 of the programme
Hours: 36.25 per week

Our Apprenticeship Programme
In this 18 month programme, you'll be welcomed into a team at Orbit where you'll be supported by your line manager and colleagues as you learn on the job and get the chance to gain an well recognised qualification. Our Apprenticeship Programme will provide you with the opportunity to gain the skills, experience and qualifications you need to secure the job you want whilst getting paid a salary in full time employment.
You will also have the chance to work as a team with our other Apprentices and deliver your own project having a real impact on the organisation. Our previous Apprentices delivered a wellbeing programme for our employees which proved to be a real success across the business.

The Role
Orbit is committed to tackling the climate and ecological emergency. It has a growing programme to embed sustainability; minimising negative environmental impacts and maximising positive impact. As part of our Community Investment Team, the role will support this programme and have the ability to effect real change at a critical period of time for the environment.
This unique role will work and engage with a diverse range of teams across Orbit to help deliver the environmental programme. You will be a brand ambassador for Orbit's environmental programme called Orbit Earth, helping to engage with employees and customers through campaigns and communications. You will develop and maintain good relationships between our different internal teams and undertake small research projects to broaden business and/or technical understanding. You will assist with the delivery of environmental projects and wider strategy and identify opportunities for environmental improvements across the business.
What We Offer
The scheme is an 18 month placement.
During this time you will gain a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.
Although it is our intention to offer you a permanent role at the end of the scheme, Orbit cannot guarantee this, however, the experience and qualifications that you will have gained throughout your time with us will certainly equip you for success in securing a permanent role in your career.

Can I Apply?
Entry Requirements for our Apprenticeships are as follows:
Our Apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16.
For an Intermediate Apprenticeship you will need 5 GCSE at grades (A*-C/9-4) or equivalent including Mathematics and English.
For this particular role, it is desirable, although not essential, that one of your GCSE subjects includes Geography, that you have knowledge of key environmental issues particularly for the housing sector, relevant volunteering/work experience and research skills.
