Student Retention Coordinator - 12 month Fixed Term Contract - Cardiff based organisation

Your new company
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a large University based in Cardiff. Due to government guidelines the organisation is asking a number of departments to work remotely. If guidelines change there may be a requirement to attend the Campus that is based in Cardiff.

Your new role
You will work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week, and will be joining an experienced and supportive team within the Student and Wellbeing Services department. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the institution via established processes, to identify students at risk of leaving the University and implementing measures and plans to support their retention and progression. This role will also include the line management of a team of Student Retention Officers.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be Degree educated or equivalent or possess equivalent professional experience. You must demonstrate an understanding of student retention and engagement and the issues that can impact upon this. An understanding of mechanisms that can be used to monitor student engagement and knowledge of key relationships that support this, as well as knowledge of student support services in higher education.

You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of internal and external people, along with the ability to manage your own workload as well as manage a team of Student Retention Officers.

What you'll get in return
You will join a great organisation on a 12 month fixed term contract. The role will begin remotely and IT equipment will be provided. You will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, normally working around the hours of 9am-5pm.
