PART TIME Buyer in Cambridge

Job description

Our client is a leader in their field, we are looking to expand their purchasing team with a part time employee! You will be responsible for buying the best quality products and services at the most competitive prices, ensuring timely delivery to Production and Customers alike, through effective negotiation and networking, whilst managing Supply Chain risk.

Start: ASAP
Location: Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire
Hourly Rate: £13.25 per hour + Holiday Pay
Hours: 16 - 19 hours per week (mornings preferred)
Duration: 12 weeks Temporary - Permanent
Benefits: Bonus of 1 month’s salary if targets are met, free healthcare

This role will be working 16 - 19 hours per week and the working hours would ideally be 9am - 12 or 1pm, however this can be flexible! You could also work longer days Monday to Thursday with Fridays off is this is more desirable!

Duties:

• Forecast levels of demand for products and services
• Ensuring best value from suppliers in terms of Price, delivery schedules and quality
• Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers and relevant internal customers and manage issues
• Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
• Monitoring the quality of service provided once agreed
• Process Purchase orders
• Make sure the cost savings and supplier performance targets are met or exceeded
• Undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements as required.
• Maintain a constant check on stock levels and re-order as required
• Produce reports and statistics on spending and savings

Skills and Experience Required:

• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within
• Purchasing experience ideally MCIPS qualified
