Childcare Tutor
Location: Remote/home working
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 depending upon experience
About the Company:
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate learner focused Childcare Tutor to join their existing team of Tutors to deliver high quality, supportive and engaging qualifications to candidates enrolled onto funded apprenticeship programmes around London.
You will engage and support a caseload of learners to achieve qualifications in a timely manner by providing meaningful teaching/learning and assessment sessions, conducting regular formal progress reviews and following the delivery guideline, with a supportive team to help you.
Childcare Tutor Responsibilities:
- Delivering full Apprenticeships, including Functional Skills Maths, English and ICT to level 2 both remote and face to face delivery.
- Visiting/observing learners in their place of work to gather evidence towards their Apprenticeships.
- Manage own caseload effectively using e-portfolio to progress learners effectively from start to timely completion.
- Respond to learner and employer queries in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring regular contact is maintained for the full duration of the learner journey and qualification.
- Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
- Ensure the Individual Learning Plan is maintained and updated regularly.
- Follow TAQA and QCF code of practice to ensure a quality learner journey is made available to all learners.
- Follow guidance with regards to teaching and assessment practice and the completion of paperwork, ensuring relevant documentation is used. Respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Whenever there is an opportunity, prioritise and use of technology to teach learners – online tools, interactive sessions, webinars, remote learning.
- Ensure that anyone else involved in the assessment process gives their consent, especially where this may mean intrusion into areas of privacy and confidentiality.
- Attend regular standardisation/team meetings to ensure consistency with other assessors and Internal Verifiers.
- Undertake regular professional development activities as agreed by the Team Leader
- Follow and act on any guidance given by the Team Leader
- Update the Team Manager on a weekly basis with individual learner’s progress.
- Ensure that the learner is fully aware of current legislation relating to them and their assessment; maintain compliance with ‘Safe learner’ requirements.
- Undertake any other duties as and when required
- Co-coordinating the recruitment of learners with Business Relationship Managers and other employer engagement functions in the business
Childcare Tutor Requirements:
- Must hold solid, occupational experience within Early Years / Childcare (ideally at senior / supervisory level)
- Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organisation skills
- Good English, Maths and IT skills.
Desirable:
- Hold Maths and English Functional Skills at Level 2 (or GCSE equivalents
- 2-year minimum experience of delivering Childcare Apprenticeship and Functional Skills led training programmes
- Relevant QCF Assessor and Verifier qualifications – e.g. D32/A1 Assessor - D34/V1 Internal Verifiers/Internal Quality Assurer
- Hold/Working towards an IAG qualification
- Experience of delivering work-based training
- Experience of using e-portfolios
- Experience of OFSTED
