Teaching Assistant - SEN School, Lymington
Academics are recruiting on behalf of an 'Outstanding' 52 week residential SEN School in Lymington which caters for both boys and girls aged 11-19 years with autism, severe learning difficulties and associated behaviours.
They require Teaching Assistants to join them in ASAP on a full-time, term-time temporary to permanent contract.
The school is equipped to deal with the needs of a variety of students with a range of abilities both academically and with communication. They focus on communication and social skills, with a strong emphasis on self-management and independence. Pupils academic level and communication skills will vary, spanning a wide range.
Due to the needs of the pupils, this role is suited to someone with a minimum of 2 years experience in supporting children/young adults with special educational needs, ideally in a school environment. This would also be suited to someone who had worked in the care industry. You are required to have a clean, current car driving licence and a clear criminal record.
You will be required to support on a 1:1 and small group basis.
All staff are MAPA trained and this will be provided aswell as an induction and on-going CPD.
