Worcestershire

£24,907 - £30,615 per annum (DOE)

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a clinical team based in Malvern Worcestershire, having a real impact and implementing a holistic, therapeutic approach.

About the role
The successful applicant will work alongside an Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Assistant Psychologists, Therapies Assistant, Psychiatrist and the Regional Clinical Lead in delivering the best possible outcomes to those within the clients care in Malvern. You will provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy input to the adults within care, ensuring their well-being and best interests at all times. You will be involved in the development of diverse, effective and innovative approaches to support and develop the functional communication skills of adults with complex communication needs.

In brief your role would involve:

Performing Speech and Language Therapy assessments of clients with diverse presentations to identify needs and formulate intervention plans
Developing and supporting the delivery of individualised intervention programmes and/or group sessions using your knowledge of evidence based practice
Evaluating client progress, reassessing and updating intervention programmes as required
Providing advice, information and training to staff, other members of the multi-disciplinary support, commissioners and other agencies relevant to autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties and other associated conditions. Key Skills Required
As a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, the following criteria are essential:

Recognised and relevant Speech & Language Therapy degree and HCPC registration
Knowledge of a range of assessment tools and evidence of skilled application
Experience of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency work within a range of settings
Previous relevant work experience with adults
Ideally, hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to transport due to the rural location of the site Experience within our specialist client group of adults with autism is essential.
Dysphagia training desirable.
