Covid 19 Testing Assistant
Following the recent Government announcement to roll out lateral flow testing in schools and with the new strain of COVID-19 causing Tier 4 lockdowns. Rapid tests are set to be rolled out at secondary schools and colleges and therefore TeacherActive are heavily recruiting for COVID-19 Testing Assistants to help provide any additional staffing needs schools may require to fulfil their testing requirements. Applicants will need to either have a Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to pay for a new one as well as passing our other compliance requirements.
Location - various Secondary schools in the Bristol area
Position - COVID-19 Testing Assistant
Start date - January End date - ongoing, temporary Full-time/part-time - dependent on school needs
Rate of pay - negotiable
Responsibilities:
• Carrying out the regular routine preventative COVID-19 testing process to on a daily basis to staff, children and young people as required.
• Providing medical swabs for COVID-19 testing for individuals or assisting/directing them to carry-out self-tests.
• Providing guidance and supervision to individuals on swabbing, as requested and required.
• Collecting completed swabs and processing them, ensuring they are ready for collection.
• Cleaning swabbing bays/spaces and ensuring that all areas are clean and as COVID-19 safe as possible, as required.
• Ensuring that the quality recorder and COVID-19 administration assistants have obtained consent forms and relevant documents before carrying out testing.
• Proactively updating all documentation, as required daily.
• Ensuring that all areas are stocked to maintain levels in the medical centre.
• Maintaining universal precautions and dispose of waste in accordance with the infection control policy Contract/Position Details:
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
• A medical background would be advantageous
• Flexible and self-motivated individuals who have the ability to think on their feet
To be eligible for this role, candidates must: Hold the right to work in the UK, have an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service, provide a minimum of 2 professional references.
