Job Title: Accounts Assistant (Property)
Location: Hove
Salary: £21k-£23k per annum depending on experience
Full time, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm although circumstances may require additional out-of-hours work from time to time.
Our client based in Hove is looking for an exceptional and experienced Property Accounts Manager to assist their Accounts Team in managing the finances for long leasehold residential properties in Brighton and Hove and the surrounding area. You will be an integral part of the team, reporting to the Accounts Team Manager and providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
Creation of service charge demands.
Processing of invoices.
Recording tenant receipts
Online banking, BACS payments, processing cheque receipts
Budgets - prepare, review and implement annual budgets for each block, ensuring the budget is approved and demands are issued on time.
Monitoring - undertaking regular income & expenditure reviews against budget, to ensure that issues are quickly identified and that corrective measures can be implemented.
Reporting - prepare regular reports, on key management and financial aspects, to Directors/Freeholders/Board Members.
Annual accounts - review draft service charge accounts and liaise with the client regarding certification and distribution. Prepare accompanying notes, where required.
Debts - deal with outstanding debts once routine credit control procedures are complete.
Resolving client enquiries.Requirements
Competencies:
Financial management - the ability to interpret financial information to ensure that the clients' service charge is managed effectively. Draft budgets, monitor expenditure and report to Board Members.
Implementation and accountability - an understanding of what is required and a willingness to systematically and diligently ensure that essential tasks are achieved on time.
Customer service and strong communication skills - our goal is to provide outstanding customer service to all of our clients.
Professional competence - the ability to consider complex issues and challenges, identify options and plan for resolution.Experience:
Experience of budget preparation, bank reconciliations and credit control, preparation of year end accounts is preferable.Skills:
Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
Excellent communication skills - written, and verbal, presentation of information.
Strong numeracy skills.
Good problem-solving skills. Ability to analyse information and make recommendations accordingly.
Good IT skills - proficiency in Microsoft programmes. Knowledge of Qube would be advantageous.
