Your new role

You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, covering properties in Wiltshire and the South West. As a maintenance surveyor you will provide technical solutions and programmes of work to ensure high quality standards for homes are met. It involves understanding the business requirements and resident's requests and ensuring works are properly specified and delivered. As a maintenance surveyor you will be carrying out technical decisions in relation to properties, and carrying out property visits, creating work schedules for repairs, maintenance design/specification and contract management, quality control through post inspections and one off project management. You will be focused on providing excellent customer service, ensuring that resident satisfaction is championed with each piece of work carried out.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful maintenance surveyor previous experience in housing would be desirable. You must also have fundamental knowledge of the construction industry in general, and the field of Project Management/Building Surveying in particular along with experience of procurement best practice and of procuring contracts and managing external contractors and suppliers. Project management experience will be required within this role, along with IT use including windows based word and database software.
This requires passion, agility and creativity in the short term, however the ability to plan and manage for the longer term is as important. It is important to see resources effectively managed to deliver long term value for money.
