** 14 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship **

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard within the duration of the placement.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Assistant to join our team currently on Earsham Ward which covers a range of specialities including: plastic surgery, Ear nose and throat, ophthalmology, maxillofacial, general surgery breast and dermatology.

Opportunities are available to develop. Support will be given from the ward to progress.

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care delivered with dignity, respect and compassion. This job description is to be read in conjunction with the core skills list for this particular job.

Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants must be:

  • Aged 16+
  • Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
  • Must not have a qualification at the equivalent or above level in a similar subject (there needs to be significant new learning)
  • Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Good general standard of education
  • 4 GCSEs at grades D/3 ideally to include Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills

Full time: 37.5 hours per week
