Bank Health Care Assistants Band 2 or 3 (N. Somerset) - COVID-19 in Bristol

Job description

We are Sirona care & health, a Community Interest Company committed to providing local communities with a range of high quality specialist health and social care services across South Gloucestershire, parts of Bristol and Bath and North East Somerset. For us, it’s about the personal approach; we take pride in what we do and deliver the high standard of care that we’d expect for ourselves and our families.

In return we offer an excellent range of benefits including generous holiday entitlement, paid enhancements for bank holiday/night working (where applicable), a contributory pension scheme (including, for some roles, the NHS pension scheme), a planned induction program, extensive learning and development opportunities, health and wellbeing programmes, flexible working patterns, staff excellence awards, in-house physiotherapy support and more!

Are you a dynamic and talented Health Care Assistant ready for a new challenge?

Do you want to work for a progressive organisation where staff have a voice and you can truly make a difference?

If so, now is the time to join Sirona care & health Bank team.

The recent award of the 10 year contract for Adult Community Health Services across Bristol, North Somerset and Gloucestershire (BNSSG) and the expansion of Sirona opens a new and hugely exciting chapter for our organisation, offering lots of interesting internal opportunities to develop and grow. This contract will enable Sirona to work with individuals, carers and families to transform out-of-hospital services to support people to live longer and healthier lives, accessing care and support close to where they live.

We are constantly looking to enhance our bank of casual workers with people from a range of backgrounds who share our commitment to treat others as we wish to be treated ourselves. We offer flexible working hours to suit you. Our bank workers are valued members of our teams so we will give you full training and all the support you need.

We are currently looking to enhance our Bank with Healthcare Assistants to cover the whole of the BNSSG area.

Areas we cover (but not limited to): Weston-Super-Mare, Worle, Shirehampton, Henbury, Bristol centre, Woodspring, Clevedon, Eastville, Horfield, Downend, Kingswood, Hanham, Yate, Warmley.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Community Health Care Assistants at a Band 2 and Band 3 level to provide nursing care and support to patients and families in the community setting.

As a Health Care Assistant you will be expected to provide support to our patients in a wide range of clinical community environments, working autonomously and collaboratively in supporting the integrated nursing team in the delivery of excellent patient care. You will be responsible for the holistic, comprehensive assessment of more complex community patients, delivering clinical care delegated by a registered professional and contributing to the evaluation of person centre care plans.

The role requires excellent communication skills, IT skills, and the ability to be adaptable, reliable and highly organised with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively. Experience of care in a community setting would be an advantage but not essential.

You need to have access to a vehicle with a full driving license to apply.

If you are a Health Care Assistant looking to work additional hours in your spare time, working flexibly through the bank could be the perfect solution for you. Working shifts via the bank also provides the opportunity to work shifts before applying substantively, which is a career pathway that many of our bank workers have followed.

In return for those registering with the Bank we will offer:-

Flexibility –the number of shifts worked can be allocated according to your availability to suit your lifestyle and personal commitments

Weekend shifts- if you wish, with the opportunity for extra income through our enhanced weekend rates.

Earning extra money– through opportunities for further additional hours or extra shifts if you wish.

Paid business mileage- payable from an agreed base. You need to have access to a car with a full driving license to work within our community roles.

A structured and supportive training programme- including job/skill specific training to support you fully in the role as well as our 2 day corporate induction programme (currently running remotely).

Good rates of pay- enhancements paid for unsocial hours over weekends and Bank holidays. (Bank rates include annual leave supplement)

If you would like to chat further about this Bank opportunity, please contact the Sirona Bank team to discuss the hours, shifts and any other questions you may have in regards to this exciting opportunity on 03001245445 / sirona.bankteam@nhs.net
