Job description

Service Delivery Controller – 2 year Fixed Term Contract – Manchester

We love the North. It's a vibrant, thriving place where there's more happening than ever before. To connect communities, people and cities, we will transform the TransPennine Express franchise. It will offer faster, easier journeys and a step change in rail services: an InterCity of the North, we're all set to take the North further, expanding links and the economy. There's just one thing missing – you.

As a Service Delivery Controller, you will be responsible for undertaking safe management of incidents across all routes through the delivery of TransPennine Express (TPE) and Control room procedures.

You will also be responsible for maintaining the fleet performance levels against the maintenance plan in conjunction with the Fleet department and the manipulation of the fleet during disruption, through the use of the computer system GENIUS. A positive approach to problem solving will see you going that extra mile to find a solution ably demonstrated by a “can do” approach to the needs of others in the business. These qualities will be mandatory for the successful candidate. This position is ideal for a quality team worker.

TPE are looking for an individual with a minimum of two years working knowledge of railway operations, or experience in a Control environment. The right person for the role will be team focussed and possess a personal style that puts people first. You will have excellent communication and analytical skills, with a natural style that instils respect. The successful candidate will be able to decipher information whilst under pressure, being IT literate in key software packages like GENIUS and TRUST is an advantage.

To say thank you for all your hard work, we offer competitive salaries and some great rewards. There's a final salary pension scheme, discretionary bonus scheme and big savings on rail travel: free TransPennine Express journeys for you and free leisure journeys for your family. You and your family can also get discounts with other train operating companies. Your job comes with plenty of holiday as well as all kinds of benefits, discounts and even a Cycle to Work scheme.
