Are you a Psychology graduate looking to further your experience with Special Educational Needs?

Do you have aspirations of becoming a teacher or educational psychologist in the future and would like to build up your school based experience before applying for a PGCE or other training course?

A mainstream primary school in Withington (M20) is looking for a Psychology Graduate to help support a number of pupils with SEMH as well as assist those who show signs of challenging behaviour.

You will be required to support these pupils on a 1:1 and a group basis, assisting them with any issues they may have and encouraging them to improve their engagement with the curriculum and adhere to the schools behaviour policy. This may also involve offering further support for example helping them with any learning related issues they have and supporting them within a classroom setting.

The right candidate will have coherent written and verbal communication that aids the understanding of the more challenging areas of the curriculum. The Head teacher is looking for a confident Psychology Graduate who is self-assured and passionate about supporting pupils with SEN. If you're enthusiastic about working with children and are committed to making a difference to the lives of children, this role could be ideal for you.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 2:1 Psychology degree
  • Strong academic background
  • Driven to begin a career in Primary Education
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional academic and emotional support to children with additional needs
  • Looking to find first hand SEN teaching experience
  • Supportive and positive attitude
