This is an exciting opportunity for any Graduate Teaching Assistants looking to support students with identified learning behaviours and who display challenging behaviour, along with providing general classroom support to students who are struggling academically in certain subjects. This post is set to start at February half-term and will continue until the end of this academic year.
Our client school is a large secondary academy that was formed when two single sex schools merged together recently. The school is based in Blackley in North Manchester, and the vast majority of the students on roll are from the surrounding areas of Blackley, Crumpsall and Moston. The school serves a diverse catchment area with a large percentage of the cohort of minority ethnic backgrounds. Since the appointment of a new Principal and a restructuring in leadership, there has been a drastic rise in the behaviour and safety of pupils with Ofsted commenting on ‘the strong community feel and the respectful attitudes between staff and students alike.’
Whilst working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at our client school, you will work providing in-class support to the teacher, ensuring students stay focused on task and are supported with any areas or problems, along with being given the opportunity to work in small groups assisting with the delivery of intervention programs and individualised learning schemes.
