Location: Fareham/Swindon

The opportunity:

Zurich Insurance UK is expanding its DevOps team to meet the increasing demand for application development, DevOps practices and innovation. The DevOps team is helping the business transform by improving efficiency and by putting the customer at the heart of everything we do via our digital transformation work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the DevOps Salesforce team as a Salesforce Operations Manager within IT at Zurich. You will work within an Agile framework alongside our business teams, business analysts, admins and developers to ensure the smooth running of our five Salesforce orgs.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

Job description:

If you want to grow, enhance and mature an expanding team to provide operational support to the Zurich Salesforce enterprise platform, to contribute objective insight and technical expertise to the applications, systems and processes that are transforming Zurich through its online digital services, and mature Salesforce DevOps and Agile practices to deliver increasingly business-focused consultation and support, you could be part of an award-winning and rapidly growing DevOps team.

You will be a seasoned Salesforce Professional with experience in people and stakeholder management, meeting the operational requirements of multiple lines of business, translating defects, incidents and problems into requirements and resolutions, shaping and informing solution design and architecture, and initiating and presenting recommendations based on analysis in order to influence decision making within multiple lines of business and across a diverse portfolio of demand.

This opportunity is no ordinary Salesforce Operations Manager role – Zurich has positioned Salesforce as a strategic technology with five Salesforce Orgs covering Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Vlocity and Nonprofit. You will gain a broad range of Salesforce experiences across multiple lines of business, portfolios and projects.

Your skills and experience:

  • You will have Salesforce certifications ADM201.
  • Experience in people management
  • Experienced in translating business demand into requirements.
  • Experience in managing competing demands, from demanding stakeholders in a frenetic environment.
  • Have Service Cloud, Sales Cloud and/or Vlocity experience.
  • Great interpersonal skills, and good written and oral communication skills – being able to talk directly to customers to understand change and configuration requirements.
  • Enjoy problem-solving and think logically.
  • Work collaboratively with the business to turn ambiguity into requirements.
  • Contribute to working in a diverse team with different backgrounds and skills.
  • Take responsibility for a piece of work from start to finish.
  • Enjoy providing a supportive environment to growing people and a team to deliver first-class operational and development support.
  • Desirable:

  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Application Builder.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer 1.
  • Experience of using JIRA.
