This school are looking for a Graduate Pastoral Mentor to work closely with their secondary school students across KS3 and KS4, supporting throughout core subjects to develop confidence, self-esteem and high aspirations.

Graduate Pastoral Mentor – English, Maths and/or Science

  • Paid £300 to £350 per week, term-time only
  • Starting ASAP – shortlisting now and arranging interviews
  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday hours, term-time only
  • Minimum 2:1 degree, ideally core subject (English, Maths or Science)
  • Strong A-Levels
  • Some experience extremely desirable
  • Training and support given
  • Perfect PGCE preparation – opportunity to progress onto School Direct
  • Based in Central Birmingham
  • This role will predominantly see you working with students who have Additional Educational Needs (AEN) across Key Stages 3 and 4 providing intervention support in your subject specialism. You will also be providing full classroom support as and when needed to support the delivery the lessons.

    You will be working towards raising standards of achievement ensuring that learners make expected progress. You will have the opportunity to organise and deliver your own intervention classes to support students within your department, to not only find a new confidence and understanding of your subject, but a new found excitement and interest.

    You will need to be versatile, adaptable and enthusiastic graduate to work in the, with a drive to work in education. Candidates will require initiative, excellent communication skills and a good knowledge of your subject. You will have a minimum of a 2:1 degree in a core subject, or strong A Levels in a core subject. The school are looking for a graduate who will be willing to be proactive about their own learning and development to have maximum impact within school.
