The Future Teachers Programme is designed to help address the teacher shortages across England & Wales by attracting bright graduates, particularly those with specialisms in Science, Maths or PE, who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain practical experience before enrolling in initial teacher training (ITT).

  • The Future Teachers Programme provides graduates with school based experience by working in a secondary school as a learning support assistant. The roles can be in your subject specialism, dependant on your degree subject, but you will be working alongside fully qualified teachers providing additional classroom support supporting students on a small group or 1:1 basis.

    You will also be given the opportunity to support students who have moderate learning support requirements such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia and social emotional mental health support. The Future Teachers Programme will give you the opportunity to secure a place on an ITT programme directly with our client training schools or to apply independently for a PGCE programme through a University training provider.

    We are currently looking for candidates who are able to access schools in and around the Knutsford and Wilmslow areas and are happy to consider candidates from all areas, particularly Stockport, Trafford, South Manchester, Tameside and Cheshire East.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
