Part-Time CAREGivers - Don't Make Me Laugh !
Home Instead Senior Care is the world’s leading provider of non-medical care and companionship services for older people. With minimum visits of one hour, award winning training and an excellent reputation we are immensely proud of the quality of care we provide. We match our CAREGivers to our clients based on mutual interests and hobbies to help build bonds of trust and enables us to provide personalised support.
To be a successful CAREGiver you must have your own transport to allow you to work within the community and visit our clients within their own homes. To take the client to appointments, to shopping trips or social events is an important part of the job.
You do not need any experience or particular qualifications to become a CAREGiver but you will have a passion for supporting others and take pride in delivering an outstanding service. A warm heart coupled with an abundance of common sense are the qualities we are seeking.
Our CAREGivers usually work between 10-20 hours per week and cover some mornings and evening shifts, generally between 8.00 - 2.00pm and 4.00 - 10.00pm, with Saturday and Sunday shifts on alternate weekend. We can be flexible so talk to us about what you can do and we will accommodate you if we can.
If you have been wondering for a while if you have the right personal qualities to become a successful CAREGiver but have a few questions that you would like answered call us today on 01707-240650 and ask to speak to a member of the Recruitment Team, we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
We are often told by our CAREGivers what a great time they have had when working with some of our older clients. How they have been laughing all morning over some of the tales they have been told by the men and women they are working with.
We support and assist elderly people within our communities and by doing so allows our clients to remain in their own homes for as long as possible and enhances the quality of their lives. We believe that everyone is an individual and this is how we treat our clients, we assess their individual needs and endeavour to ensure that our CAREGivers give the support and assistance best suited to the needs of each client. We offer three types of assistance including:
Personal Care - By helping our clients to get up in the mornings, get washed and dressed in suitable clothing we help them start their day in a positive way. Sometimes the person needs a little more help to include changing continence pads or someone checking their catheter, but often encouragement is all that is needed.
Home Help - To help with meal preparation, clean the fridge of out of date foodstuffs, a hoovering of the floors or perhaps changing the bed linens. Shopping or collecting prescriptions is also very useful.
Companionship Care - A walk on a summers day, a trip to a garden centre, a game of cards or just a chat about world events makes so much difference to an older person.
We do all we can to support and assist our clients and offer the level of support that each individual requires so each day is never the same for a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care.
We look for a compassionate nature, good sense of humour and a willingness to learn and above all an abundance of common sense. If you possess these qualities then we undertake to offer you our Award Winning Training and to also provide Continuous Professional Development throughout your career with Home Instead Senior Care.
We do INSIST that all CAREGivers have transport, this is a necessity.
We also require our CAREGivers have clear and precise verbal communication skills, our clients may have loss of hearing and/or dementia and we need to ensure they can understand what is being said to them.
