Job description

Purpose of position

As a Junior Account Consultant, you will be exposed to every aspect of operations in the Client Services department at the UK’s most exciting and innovative affiliate marketing network. From assisting and presenting in client meetings on affiliate strategy to reporting on merchant and affiliate performance as well as investigating new affiliate websites to assess their suitability for Awin’s merchant clients. You will also provide the first line of support to some of the emerging Advertisers on the network and providing consultation on how they can make their programme a success.

The successful candidate will work in the Account Development department, assisting colleagues and their assigned clients on the Awin network, working collaboratively within the Account Development with other ancillary support teams.

Awin is passionate about developing people and progressing staff in the business. The Junior Account Consultant will receive training and hands on experience that will equip them to be a highly valued member of an online and affiliate marketing team. On successful completion of the placement year and degree, Awin is keen to retain talented interns and progress them in the business.

Key Tasks

Key responsibilities within this superb role include:
  • Provide daily support to team members and their assigned clients with day-to-day duties, such as:
  • · Daily Account checks
    · Data feed and commission administration
    · Weekly reporting
    · Communication
    · Affiliate recruitment
    · Programme Analysis
    · Creative management
  • Respond to incoming calls and emails and relay messages from clients and affiliates
  • Manage the month-end reporting system
  • Assist in the growth of your assigned merchant programmes:
  • Implementing strategies for the optimisation of accounts
  • Offer affiliate recruitment services where appropriate
  • Encourage contribution to newsletters and providing promotions
  • Deliver sector relevant opportunities
  • Objection handling with both merchants and affiliates
  • Deliver Presentations about campaign and affiliate performance to merchants
  • Attend industry events when required and network with clients
  • Whilst the above is a guide to general expectation of the role, we expect this position to evolve allowing you greater scope to gain both knowledge and experience within the online and affiliate market place. As a hard-working member of the team, it is anticipated that you will in time use the skills developed in this role to form a solid basis for upward progression within the company.

    Skills & Expertise

    To be successful you will need to meet the below requirements.

    Essential
  • Currently undertaking a degree relevant to digital or online marketing with a year in industry as part of the course.
  • Good understanding of affiliate marketing and real interest in the industry.
  • Exude a friendly and professional manner with confidence working with people at all levels and when communicating directly with clients.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be highly organised and able to juggle several tasks simultaneously
  • Have impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent computer literacy including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Previous experience in marketing or office based role
  • Good standard of academic achievement (A-Level or Degree).
  • Be highly self-motivated with ability to quickly acquire new skills
  • Be flexible and unflappable when responding within tight timeframes.
  • Be approachable with a strong ‘can do’ attitude and an appetite to learn
  • Have a passion for results and are happy to roll sleeves up and get involved in helping out wherever it might be needed.
  • Strives to continually improve productivity and quality of work produced. 
  • Ability to meet attendance standards and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and employees, along with working with external suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • You will be expected to have good understanding of affiliate marketing is and what we do in the industry for any role within Awin.

    Work Environment
  • This position is for a 12 month period, designed to fit in with a relevant degree that requires a year in industry.
  • Working full time, for now remotely, otherwise in our London office in St Katherine’s Dock. The hours of work are 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
