The role

What will you be doing?

As Senior Delivery Manager – Data Integration and Dev Ops, you will lead a team of data engineers, data analysts and DBA’s in specification, development, release management, deployment, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of all of Unum’s data solutions.

What will you bring?

  • Proactively partnering with the business to provide development, construction, testing, and maintenance of a data pipeline that support the needs of the business.
  • Understanding and owning the delivery of the evolving enterprise data strategy including how to develop and deploy current and emerging data frameworks and tools (eg hosting data in Cloud, data lakes).
  • Building and maintaining best practices for team's data engineering strategy; as well as staying informed of best practices across industries and striving for innovation and efficiency.
  • Ensuring a streamlined and efficient data devops based support and service team delivering solid data platform stability & performance.
  • Providing support, training and/or mentorship to Data Engineers, Data Analysts and DBA’s.
  • Essential requirements:

  • Extensive experience in an IT field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Prior management experience
  • Demonstrates leadership in executing IT plans successfully that enable technical or business capabilities and address technology or business priorities
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Lean leadership principles
  • Has proven and demonstrated knowledge and skills in one or more technologies or industries
  • Able to apply broad business and technology understanding of internal and external trends and capabilities, to ensure successful implementation of IT plans
  • Able to communicate a compelling vision and need for change that generates excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to the process
  • Demonstrates strategic and critical thinking capability
  • Understands the business case for each deliverable undertaken and works with their manager and product owner to help ensure benefits are realised
  • Has strong planning, communication and presentation skills, and the capability to listen and influence
