Trainee Building Services Project Engineer (Mechanical Bias) - Preston

Salary - £25k - £30k + Pension + 31 Days Holidays (including bank holidays)

The Client

Our clients is well established and has grown to become a multi-disciplined Building Services provider renowned for offering a high quality service. The business undertake the full spectrum of Building Services Engineering Projects up to £1m in value for both the public and private sectors acting as either Principal Contractor or subcontractor. They have dedicated estimating, project management and installation teams and their inhouse services include design and offsite fabrication.

The company are particularly active in offering turnkey packages for boiler plant replacement and also offer planned and reactive service - maintenance as well as 24/7 emergency service cover. They also carry out a range of other Building Services disciplines utilising their supply chain partners including boiler, oil tank and asbestos removals, flue installations, BMS and control installations, insulation, electrical works, commissioning, medical gases and builders work.

The Role

As part of our company's development they are seeking a dynamic enthusiastic Trainee Project Engineer to join their team. The company are committed to providing outstanding service to their customers and as a leading project engineer you would play your part in the vision and be responsible for delivering the project engineering function to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will be qualified to HNC level with previous experience within the industry being an advantage. You will also need a proactive approach, work well under pressure, have good management skills and the desire to achieve. You will also need to have excellent customer service, administration and communication skills.

Following the successful completion of training you will be expected to achieve:

Overall responsibility for the administration, procurement and general management of projects in accordance with the company's standard operating procedures, client specifications and industry standards

Managing all aspects of project delivery from order to final account within agreed budgets

Management of subcontractor accounts including procurement

Co-ordination of the end of project activities including commissioning, OMI's and record drawings

Assisting the project installation team to deliver projects at site level to the satisfaction of our clients Liaise with clients to ensure the delivery of projects, build relationships and secure further work

To prepare programmes of work to meet project requirements, monitor and report against these programmes

Provide technical support both in house and to our customers,

To manage, coordinate and develop system design as necessary

Skills/Qualifications

The successful candidate should have:

A minimum HNC qualification in the Building Services Industry

Strong Administration skills

Proactive approach to work load management

Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills

A good level of computer literacy with knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of software

A desire for career progression and a willingness to undertake CPD

Additional Skills

A Knowledge of the AutoCad suite of software

Knowledge of Estimation software would be advantageous but not essential as training would be provided"

HND qualified person will be considered as well
