Our Business Development Team are looking for a Research Analyst to help our London Specialty divisions identify and convert new global sales opportunities.

Accurately analysing and interpreting research and available information, you clearly present your findings in a significant way. This allows us to develop and further our income and client base.

Your Role:

  • Research, analyse and collate information and intelligence on the insurance market.
  • Analyse environmental, social, political and financial risks that can affect commercial insurance buying habits and future market fluctuations.
  • Prospect and client research; including developing target lists for business development activities.
  • Working with the Business Development Executives, using research to support the business in the development of clear sales propositions; both short and longer term.
  • Proactive in spotting opportunities, aware of key insurance industry topics, themes and trends and sharing your findings.
  • Develop MI to measure Gallagher Specialty’s divisional and competitor performance.
  • Partner with the Gallagher Market Management team to learn how insurer appetite aligns with market trends, and then using this analysis to underpin our new business initiatives.
  • Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level (Economics (PPE), International History, Business, International Studies or Political Science)
  • 3 years’ professional experience in a research role, preferably in financial services or insurance.
  • Proven planning and project execution skills, able to keep scope and financial objectives aligned. Validated experience in showing your research relates clearly to the topic in hand and ultimately delivers a successful outcome!
  • Eloquent with outstanding written, oral presentation skills. Proven report writing experience. Happy working to tight timescales when undertaking background research for tenders or bids.
  • Sound knowledge of current affairs and business trends.
  • Attention to detail is critical as is the ability to adapt to evolving priorities as commercial needs dictate.
  • Proficient problem-solving and intuitive mind-set.
