Job description

We are looking for an intern to join our dynamic team based in London and become a part of this early stage m-commerce start up in the kids sector. We are looking for a pro-active, detail oriented person who is extroverted and a quick learner. As part of the role you will develop an editorial and content strategy and operationalize it. You love researching and writing and are interested in everything related to kids. Mothers are more than welcome and this role could be part-time to fit around your schedule.

Our team has background in technology, retail, marketplaces, digital marketing and m-commerce and have many years of experience in leadership positions at one of the world’s largest online marketplace. You will be working in a fun and fast paced environment that encourages entrepreneurial spirit and drive. You should be a high achiever, both academically and in your extra-curricular activities, excited about solving problems and helping people. You will get great hands-on experience in content management and marketing in the Internet start-up industry.

ROLE

You will be directly working with the founders, learning the ins and outs of running a fast growing and successful tech start up, undertaking a range of roles with a focus on editorial content creation and online marketing:

  • Research google keywords for top searches and build content around these
  • Analyse postcodes in London for local content
  • Research and write quality and original content, always keeping our user top of mind
  • Sales: Identify leads and pitch KIDSORTED marketing packages to providers via e-mail and phone
  • Understand and optimise for user intent
  • Recruiting of new suppliers by email, phone and visits
  • Maintaining the relationship with our existing suppliers
  • Development of content for editorial pages and social media including video
  • Suggest product improvements based on customer feedback
  • If you do well, there is even the opportunity for permanent work within the company at the end.

  • Passion for kids related topics
  • Strong academic background with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Consumer focused with strong empathy for customers
  • Organised, hard working and enthusiastic
  • Self motivated, uses initiative, problem solver & can-do attitude
  • Confident developing relationships over the phone and in person
  • Experience using search engine tools a plus
  • Confident with new technology
  • Journalism experience a plus
  • Willingness to go beyond the call of duty to get the job done
  • Good sense of humour & outgoing personality
