As Junior Software Developer, you’ll be working for a client that has been established for 40 years and have a wide variety of customers from household names employing several thousand people to small companies with only a few staff.
This is an opportunity to play a significant role within a small vibrant team. It’s a challenging role requiring the ability to learn fast to be able to maintain the existing software infrastructure as well as play a significant part in developing new features. To be able to do this you will demonstrate a good working knowledge of ASP.net, C# and object orientated database design and use. In addition to ASP.net you will also be using what is probably the best programming environment in the World, from Jade Software Corporation.
We are different to most of our competitors in that we not only provide payroll services but also own and develop the software systems used for the service. This gives us unique flexibility to respond to individual customer needs and allows us to have a very different approach. Key to our success are our staff, most of whom started at a junior level and have developed their skills with us and most have been sponsored by us to gain degree equivalent qualifications.
Junior Software Developer Responsibilities
Most of the client base access services by a web portal that is currently in the final stages of a major re-write using an ASP.net front end supported by web services within the core software. It’s this new customer interface that most development will occur but the client/server base also represents a major part of the development team’s workload.
Supporting the customer front end is the core software platform which is a client/server application providing payroll processing functionality to our service team. This also needs to be maintained to be compliant with new legislation and is continually being amended to provide efficiencies in operation. This uses one of the World’s leading development platforms for modern systems The primary function of this role is to support the new customer interface and expand its capabilities, but there will also be an involvement in supporting the back-end system.
