As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant you will work within a supportive Maths department in order to raise attainment and achievement amongst a range of pupils. You will be required to run intervention groups for small groups of students who are underperforming. It is therefore key that you possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young students.
You will work across KS3 and KS4, occasionally having the opportunity to plan and deliver your own learning sessions. Throughout the year you will gain more responsibility in order to build the required skills so that you are ready to continue on to teacher training.
This role is well-suited for someone who has recently graduated within a Maths related degree subject. You should be someone who can motivate and inspire young people, as well as having a passion for maths. If you’re thinking of becoming a Maths teacher in the future, this role will provide you with the stepping stones required.
