To strengthen our commercial team in the UK we are looking to hire an Account Manager / Field Sales Representative. This role will be part of our Graphics Solutions organisation, a fundamental pillar in the Avery Dennison’s profitability targets in the territory. 

The Account Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the sales function in their specified accounts across the UK and Ireland including achieving AOP (Annual Operating Plan), sales growth, profitability and market share gains in the assigned product lines and brands.

Key Work Activities: 

  • Sell Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions products to designated customers, including strategic, designated distributors and converter accounts in the UK and Ireland.

  • Look to develop product specifications at strategic end user accounts, designers, brand owners, advertising agencies, Government and where appropriate develop direct sales.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Area Sales Manager and regional colleagues to identify opportunities to expand the customer base within the UK and Ireland with some exposure to the Nordic Countries (NO, DK, SE, FI) and develop new profitable revenue streams. 

  • Working with the Area Sales Manager generate, define and execute annual written plans for strategic and developmental accounts, including sales growth plans, margin enhancement, product mix, identifying required resources, planning sales incentives and working with the AD marketing team and product managers to deliver structured training programmes.

  • Manage appropriate customer contact in proportion to the size and growth opportunities available at each account as well as managing customer rebates and price support to ensure maximum profitability.

  • Perform quarterly reviews at strategic and other qualified accounts

  • Understand deviations from plans and implement corrective actions

  • Cooperate with Customer Service to solve operational issues

  • Identify, qualify and follow-up of leads for projects and specifications

  • Monitor actions and behavior of competition

  • Willingness to travel daily within the territory with occasional overnight stays

Linked to/connected with: 
Area Sales Manager Reporting directly to the Area Sales Manager as well as working collaterally with colleagues across the division, including Customer Services, Distribution, Product Managers, Technical Support, Business Analysts, Finance, and the Legal team. 




  • At least 3 years of customer focused field sales experience 
  • Experience of working with a distributor set up
  • Strong track record setting and achieving strategic and tactical goals within the territory
  • Ability to self motivate and independently manage and drive the direction and strategy of their territory.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels, with self drive and determination to succeed. 
  • Negotiation skills and high levels of commercial awareness
  • Work effectively in a team environment


  • French language or willingness to learn
