  • Physics Graduate Teaching Assistant – About the role:

    The science department at this fantastic and inspirational school are looking to add a physics graduate to the science department who is keen to gain experience as a teaching assistant, potentially with the ambition to become a teacher in the near future.

    Within the science department, there has emerged a need for a graduate with physics knowledge who can join the department and add their excellent knowledge within the physics subject. You must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with the other science graduate teaching assistants as there is a big emphasis within this school on team work and collaboration amongst staff to ensure the best outcomes for all of their students.

    You will support both class teacher and students within the classroom in a variety of different ways. You will also hold small intervention sessions to help boost the progress of learners within science who find physics difficult and need high-quality advice and guidance from a physics graduate. Further, you will support the highest achievers who require additional support to reach their high potential.

    Once you gain the confidence and knowledge to match their high expectations, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for larger intervention groups in order to build your knowledge and experience of what life as a physics teacher would entail. You will have access to opportunities that will expose you to planning, differentiation and behaviour management strategies and techniques. If you should decide to move in to teacher training the following year you will be way ahead of others as you will have an extra year’s experience and prepared for the next challenge when you embark upon teacher training!
