Service Delivery Director

Working hours - Full time 37.5 hours
Salary - £34,788-£40,760
Contract type - Two Year Contract (with possibility of extension pending funding)
Our client is an award winning community development mental health charity. They work with people from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities living with mental distress to enable recovery and facilitate the development of appropriate and responsive mental health services.
They are seeking a proven leader in the field of mental health service delivery who has an in-depth understanding of BAME mental health issues in Bradford and has led teams and built the competence and capacity of workers to address the needs of communities as well as influence policy makers and service providers.
Knowledge and experience of working with local communities in the city is a must as well as experience of working with all mental health stakeholders in particular the CCG, BDCH and local authority. You will be required to build understanding of mental health and establish better links between the community/faith sector and the wider statutory sectors through a community development method. We require the post holder to have a strong commitment to overcoming racial inequality and disparities in health and experience of advocacy related to this. They will also be required to represent the organisation at key external forums and will show confidence and assertiveness in promoting the work of SVB. The post is likely to involve some occasional evening and weekend work.
The post is a fixed term contract and will be reviewed on a consistent basis and may be subject to termination due to funding situation and or reviews around performance.
What do you need? Minimum of 2 years of line management of staff and work teams involved in service delivery Minimum of five years’ experience in a mental health service delivery organisations Minimum of three years of experience in delivery of mental health services to diverse BAME communities in Bradford or those with a similar demographic profile A minimum of five years’ experience of working in BAME communities and delivering services to them Experience in working with all mental health service providers/sectors and policy makers in Bradford Knowledge of culturally competent mental health service delivery that promotes race equality and meets the diverse needs of BAME communities In-depth knowledge of mental health service delivery and policy both locally and nationally; including all the different elements of services e.g. older people, CAMHS, dementia, suicide prevention, addiction services and counselling and therapy
