Home Instead Senior Care is the world’s leading provider of non-medical care and companionship services for older people. With minimum visits of one hour, award winning training and an excellent reputation we are immensely proud of the quality of care we provide. We match our CAREGivers to our clients based on mutual interests and hobbies to help build bonds of trust and enables us to provide personalised support.

To be a successful CAREGiver you must have your own transport to allow you to work within the community and visit our clients within their own homes. To take the client to appointments, to shopping trips or social events is an important part of the job.

You do not need any experience or particular qualifications to become a CAREGiver but you will have a passion for supporting others and take pride in delivering an outstanding service. A warm heart coupled with an abundance of common sense is the qualities we are seeking.

Our CAREGivers usually work between 10-20 hours per week and cover some mornings and evening shifts, generally between 8.00 - 2.00pm and 4.00 - 10.00pm, with Saturday and Sunday shifts on alternate weekend. We can be flexible so talk to us about what you can do and we will accommodate you if we can.

Job Description

We are looking for people who are caring and compassionate and have the ability to adapt to various living arrangements and locations, no two days are the same when working for Home Instead Senior Care.

Your primary responsibilities - To reflect the core values of Home Instead Senior Care and to contribute to a positive living environment to enahnce our clients's quality of life, to enable this we offer our client's:

Personal Care - Help with bathing dressing and grooming and to help with continence care if necessary. Assist to eat and drink and to provide medication reminders.

Home Help Care - Run errands, collect prescriptions, plan prepare and tidy away meals, perform light housekeeping tasks.

Companionship Care - Offer companionship and conversation, monitor diet and eating, help with travel arrangements, stimulate and encourage through a variety of activities.

Each of our clients has a bespoke Care Plan which encompasses their individual needs and what needs to be achieved at each visit. Therefore, each clients needs differ and no two days are the same for our CAREGivers.

Qualifications

A helpful attitude and a willingness to learn are the most important qualities that we seek in our CAREGivers, then add a pinch of common sense and we are ready to train you to our very high standard.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have your own transport, you need that to travel between your assigned clients and to take them to appointments or shopping if needed.

We also require you have very good verbal communication skills as some clients have hearing loss and struggle to understand some conversations.
