An excellent Secondary school in Brent is looking to appoint an engaging and ambitious Maths graduate teaching assistant who has a passion to one day become a qualified maths teacher!

  • Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Person Specification

    You should be a recent graduate with a mathematical based subject degree, having graduated from a top university, with at least a 2.1 or higher. Some 2.2 degrees will be considered as long as you have previous experience working with young people. You should have a genuine passion for education and be dedicated to aiming to make a difference in the lives of young people, in particular aspiring mathematicians. Excellent communication is essential as you will be liaising with a range of people, including parents/carers, colleagues and students to ensure pupil progress and attainment is at the highest level.

    Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Job Role

    As a maths graduate teaching assistant your role will consist of both working with small groups of learners as well as one to one with pupils who are underachieving. You will work with children who are borderline A*/A to ensure they reach the highest possible grading (this is the new 1-9 grading system in Mathematics). The role also consists of working with disadvantaged/pupil premium learners who are allocated additional intervention sessions to ensure they reach their target. You will assist students who are preparing for examinations such as GCSEs, as well as helping Year 7 students and their transition in school. The nature of this role will vary from day to day, no two days will be the same and each day will present new and rewarding challenges.
