Teaching Assistants work alongside the class teachers and offer in class intervention and booster sessions. You will also offer booster and intervention in out of class sessions and work alongside pupils who may be preparing for SATS in literacy and numeracy lessons or are have difficulties with certain topic areas.
You would be working with the class teacher to develop accelerated reading and SPAG with pupils to ensure all students are given the full support they deserve, whilst boosting their development.
The requirements for this role would be to possess strong academic background and demonstrate clear and concise written and spoken communication skills. Ideally you will have achieved either a 1st or 2.1 grade in your degree and you will have experience working with young people.
