The Firm:

Founded in 1933, the practice comprises 32 partners and approximately 280 staff supplying a range of services spanning audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT and forensic accounting, together with a range of sector groups offering specialist industry knowledge.

The Department:

The Private Client department comprises 20 specialist staff and is headed by 7 Partners and 3 Directors/Principals.

The Role:

We are looking for a trainee within our Private Client Tax Department to assist our managers with their portfolios, as well as preparing tax returns for their review and liaising with both clients and HMRC. This would be a 3 year apprenticeship training contract to study for both the ATT and CTA qualifications.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a graduate (with at least a 2:2 degree and a minimum of 280 UCAS points) or a school leaver with excellent A-levels.

  • In possession of good communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Accurate and pay attention to detail

In return you will be offered a three-year apprenticeship training contract to complete your ATT and CTA qualifications.

You will be formally trained by Lexis Nexis (our training providers). For the ATT qualification you will undergo 3 paper based exams and 3 computer based assessments. You will sit these exams during your first 2 years with us; the paper-based exams take place in November and May each year.

The CTA examinations would then follow.

As part of the training process you will also receive on-the-job training in-house to enable you to put the theory into practice.
