The role:
Teaching Support Assistants are responsible for supporting the Teacher in a class whether that be working with small groups or one-to-one with pupils with additional learning needs. You are entrusted to help the pupils that require extra support so that their tasks are carried out to the best of the pupil's capabilities. You must help maintain discipline in the classroom and ensure the set work is adhered to. Maintaining a good level of interaction with pupils and an empathetic approach is vital.
The candidate:
Previous experience of working with children is desirable although there may be opportunities for those who have previously interacted with children in perhaps a club. Patient and calm demeanour. Professional conduct and ability to engage with pupils of all backgrounds and age groups.
Those with experience in working with children with unusual or challenging behaviour would be ideal for this particular vacancy.
Holders of a valid DBS check that is registered with the DBS online update service are eligible for fast-track registrations - Apollo can perform a new check for you if necessary at a cost of £52.
