SENCO - Part Time in London (City of)

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join an energetic, forward-thinking, high-achieving, friendly, working environment where values matter. We are seeking to appoint an experienced SENCO. They will work in partnership with, and advise SLT in the decision-making and leadership of SEND. This post is for 2 days a week working typically with up to 20 SEN students each year. The individual will work throughout the College, including providing advice to teaching colleagues where required, and they will be expected to make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the College. We are seeking a proactive, positive person who embraces the College values. The ideal candidate will have: • Qualified Teacher Status. • An excellent knowledge and understanding of the statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice and practical application strategies for meeting the special educational needs of students (within the independent sector) • Experience of working with children with SEND and EHCPs. • Experience of Key Stage 4 and 5 • Experience of working with young people who have additional social, emotional and/or mental health needs. • Working closely with the Examinations Officer, the ability to lead and manage examination access arrangements within the College, possessing the knowledge and skills to carry out Access Arrangements. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant qualification which meets the new JCQ requirements at Level 7. • The ability to form strong partnerships with parents and offer them the support, advice, and the reassurance they often seek in ensuring their child’s needs are being met. • Confidence in the use of data to analyse and evaluate performance, presenting information to a variety of audiences.
